私（平林真友未）は、小学３～５年まで高松に住んでいました。
当時は宇高連絡船で、宇野から高松までフェリーでの移動。
船に乗るなんて経験は全くなかったので、
東京の祖父母の家への行き帰り、フェリーに乗るのは、
わくわくする冒険でした。
ホバークラフトの乗り心地も面白かったけれど、
船の中も歩き回れず、３０分はあっという間。
子供の私にとっては、ちょっと残念でした。
瀬戸内海は、千葉や伊豆で見る太平洋とは
違った色だったのを覚えています。
夏休み。
小豆島に行った楽しい思い出。
足のつかないところまで、
自力で泳いでいけたことを
誇らしく思ったことを覚えています。
蒼く広い空と
やさしい光と
みずいろの海。
そんな瀬戸内の海のイメージは、
今も私の中で生き続けています。
今回、SETOCOMに応募することで、
４４年ぶりに瀬戸内海を訪れることができました。
このような機会を与えていただけたことに、
心より深く感謝しております。
瀬戸内の海は、「はじまりの海」。
そこからインスピレーションを受けて、
歌の途中に、新しいフレーズを加えて
完成しました。

I had been living in Takamatsu city from the third grader to the fifth grader.
In those days, we travelled between Uno and Takamatsu by ferry, “UKOU RENRAKU SEN”.
I was so excited to get on the ferry to visit my grandparents in Tokyo because I had had no experience getting on a ship before then.
It was the very adventure for me.
The comfort ride of air-cushion vehicle was interesting.
However, 30 minutes was too short. In addition to this,
I could not walk about in the air-cushion vehicle.
It was slightly disappointing for me of the child.
I remember that the colour of Seto Inland Sea is different from the colour of Pacific ocean in Chiba and Izu Islands.
Fun memory at Shoudoshima Island in Summer vacation.
I was proud of myself since I could swim by myself
in the place where my feet did not reach to the ground.
The blue, wide sky
The genial sunshine
The light blue sea
Such the image of Seto Inland Sea is still alive in my mind.
SETOCOM gave me a chance to visit Seto Inland sea.
It is 44 years since I left there.
From the bottom of my heart, I am most grateful for SETOCOM, such the wonderful event, to have been given this opportunity.
Seto Inland Sea is the place where Japanese Myths start. I got an inspiration from it, and I added a new phrase to the song.
